Accor and The Community: An element of a happy study
The sub-district of Taman is considered to be the poorest sub district in North Badung regency; although Badung is recognized as the nation-wide second biggest income tax contributor. Located in the remote area nears the famous Sangeh forest (approximately two hours from Bali’s capital city – Denpasar); the community’s life depends heavily on traditional crop cultivation that has been passed for many generations.
The kindergarten and playgroup building project, standing next to the eight classrooms which were built two years ago by the government; was continued to completion by Accor hotels in Bali & Lombok that allocated more than 85 million Indonesian Rupiah. On 22 April 2010, Accor Regional Bali & Lombok represented by Mr. Philippe Battle, GM of Pullman Bali Legian Nirwana, and Mr. Thierry Gasnier, GM of Novotel Bali Nusa Dua Hotel & Residences, handed over the completed project back to PEMBERDAYAAN & KESEJAHTERAAN KELUARGA (PKK) of sub district Taman to organize the kindergarten and playground for the under-privileged children of four banjar (village community) of the Taman.
Accor Bali and Lombok Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) team will support and monitor the learning progress periodically to help the children in focus to be able to study and reach their dreams. At present, there are about 57 students registered in this kindergarten and playground. On their behalf, Novotel Bali Nusa Dua Hotel and Residences together with other six Accor hotels in Bali & Lombok would like to thank all the donations that have been contributed to support the development of the school.

The building state of the kindergarten before and after the project completion supported fully by Accor Bali & Lombok hotels.
Accor Bali CSR team is coordinated by Mr. Thierry Gasnier, the general manager of Novotel Bali Nusa Dua Hotel & Residences.
